"Thought the family might be interested in this. Hannah Garrett, mother of Ernest Shaw, our grandfather, worked here as a kitchen maid . I found her in the 1901 census. The house is in Ambergate and was lived in at the time by Ann Johnson. The Johnson family had a wire business and I imagine that is where Hannah met James Edward, her husband, who was a wire drawer ...and the rest is history. Sadly the house is now derelict."
